My Artistic Journey

Preston was born in Dunedin, FL, but grew up in Middletown, Delaware and Palm Harbor, FL. He started performing on-stage at 10 and has continued his passions with community, professional, and educational theatres throughout college.

He is pursuing congruent BAs in Theatre Arts and Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of South Florida (USF). He currently holds a 4.0 GPA with an expected graduation in May 2025. Preston studied under the creative genius of Doug Hall (Acting), Dora Arreola (Movement), Latoya McCormick (Voice), Landon Green (Performance Theory), and Dr. Sayandeb Basu (Writing & Scholarship).

Preston aspires to travel abroad following graduation to obtain a master’s in applied theatre and eventually a PhD in dramaturgy. His ultimate goal is to own and operate a small-scale, local non-profit community theatre.

He aims to revive community theatre movements nationwide and use theatre as a platform for protest and activism. He seeks to understand global dramaturgical methods to create a new mode of production that highlights community collaboration, activism, co-creation, empathy, and joy. Creation must focus on process, not product; promoting performers' physical, mental, and economic health is tantamount to sustainable art.
